Post-renovation cleaning in Singapore for offices, shops and commercial units

What it covers, how long it takes, and how to plan it so you can open or hand over on time.

Sani Clean Pte Ltd · September 2026

Floor cleaning after renovation in a Singapore commercial unit

The contractor has finished, the fit-out looks great, and your opening or handover date is close. Then you notice the fine white dust on every surface, paint spots on the glass and cement marks on the new flooring. Contractors usually clear the big debris, but they don't do the detailed clean a commercial space needs before staff or customers move in.

Why renovation dust needs a proper clean

Renovation dust comes from cement, plaster, gypsum board, wood and paint. It's much finer than normal dust, so it settles inside cabinets, on top of ceiling boards, in aircon vents and along every ledge. If it isn't removed properly, the aircon keeps blowing it back out for weeks. It also scratches new flooring and finishes when people walk on it.

What commercial post-renovation cleaning covers

  • Removal of leftover debris, packaging and protective sheets
  • Dust removal from walls, ceilings, ledges, partitions and fixtures
  • Cleaning inside and outside cabinets, counters and shelving
  • Removal of paint spots, glue, sticker residue and cement stains
  • Glass and window cleaning, including frames and tracks
  • Cleaning of light fittings, switches, aircon grilles and vents
  • Washroom and pantry cleaning, including new fittings
  • Floor cleaning: vacuuming, mopping, and machine scrubbing where needed

How long does it take?

It depends on the size of the unit and how heavy the works were. A small shop or office unit can often be done in a day with a full crew. Larger offices, showrooms and F&B outlets with kitchens may need two days or more, sometimes in stages. A site visit before the job gives you a firm timeline.

How to plan it before handover

  • Book it into the project timeline. Leave at least one to two days between the contractor finishing and your opening or handover.
  • Make sure all works are done. Touch-ups after cleaning mean cleaning again.
  • Keep power and water on. The crew needs both.
  • Clean before furniture and stock move in. It's faster, cheaper and gives a better result.
